भारत देशाच्या स्वातंत्र्याला सत्तरहून अधिक वर्षे होऊन गेली, असे असूनही भारताच्या समस्या संपल्या नाहीत. भारताच्या कंठाशी निरक्षरता, भ्रष्टाचार, बेकारी, भरमसाट लोकसंख्या, गोरगरिबी आणि दारिद्रय या गोष्टींचा घट्ट विळखा बसला आहे. या सर्व कारणामुळे आजसुध्दा भारत देश जगाच्या नकाशावर एक 'समर्थ राष्ट्र' म्हणून स्थान मिळवू शकला नाही. हे उच्च स्थान कसे प्राप्त करता येईल? समर्थ भारत घडवण्यासाठी समर्थ समाज घडवणे सुध्दा अनिवार्य आहे. समर्थ समाज घडवण्यासाठी त्या समाजतील तरुण वर्ग, युवापिढी सक्षम, साक्षर आणि निरोगी असणे महत्त्वाचे आहे. कारण आजचा युवक, तरूण पिढी हिच उद्याचा भावी, सुजाण नागरिक आहे. युवाअवस्थेमध्ये प्रत्येक तरूणाने स्वतःच्या अवतीभोवती असलेल्या समाज जीवनातील वास्तवास समजून घेण्याची आवश्यकता आहे. समाज घडवताना नानाविध प्रश्न उभे राहणार आहेत. ते प्रत्येक युवकाने, तरुणाने समजून घेतले पाहिजे. त्या प्रश्नांची अचूक उत्तरे शोधली पाहिजेत. ते प्रश्न प्रत्येक युवकाने सोडवावे लागतील. त्यासाठी अनेक गोष्टींचा पाठपुरवठा त्यांना करावा लागणार आहे.
गेल्या सत्तर वर्षामध्ये भारत देशाने खरतर औद्योगिक क्षेत्रामध्ये आणि कृषी क्षेत्रामध्ये नेत्रदीपक प्रगती केली आहे. आपला भारत देश स्वातंत्र्योत्तर काळात पहिली काही वर्षे यंत्र आणि तंत्र याबाबत संपूर्णपणे परावलंबी होता. परंतु आजच्या वर्तमान संगणक युगातील 'सॉफ्टवेअर' क्षेत्रात भारताने संपूर्ण जगाला आश्चर्यकारक प्रगती करून दाखवली आहे. परंतु याच वेळी समाज सुधारण्यासाठी अनेक आव्हांनांवर मात करण्याची वृत्ती, कष्ट सोसणे, सायास आणि संकल्प ही महत्त्वाची त्रिसूत्री प्रत्येक तरूणाची जबाबदारी आहे. सुसंस्कृत समाज घडवण्यासाठी प्रत्येक तरूणाने आत्मकेंदिपणा म्हणजेच 'मला काय त्याचे?' ही वृत्ती सोडून देणे महत्त्वाचे आहे. प्रत्येक युवक वर्गाने समाजाच्या हिताचा सतत विचार केला पाहिजे. या समाजाप्रती, माझ्या देशाप्रती माझी काही तरी बांधिलकी आहे. याचा प्रत्येकाने विचार करण्याची गरज आहे.
स्वातंत्र्य मिळूनही अनेक वर्षे विभाजनाच्या गोंधळातच गेली. त्या काळात भारतामध्ये खुप मोठ्या प्रमाणावर निर्वासितांचा लोंढा आदळला होता. त्यानंतर वादळ, दुष्काळ आणि भूकंप अशा नानाविध नैसर्गिक आपत्ती, कोळश्याच्या खाणीतील अपघात, भोपाळमधील दुर्घटना अशी मानवनिर्मित संकटे आणि शेजारील राष्ट्रांची आक्रमणे या सर्वामध्ये भारताच्या खूप मोठ्या शक्तीचा व्यय झाला. या सर्व संकटांवर समर्थपणे मात करून भारत देश प्रगतीपथावर जात आहे. सामर्थ्यवान होत आहे. असे असताना प्रत्येक तरूणाने समाज घडविण्यासाठी विविध उपक्रमात उत्साहाने सहभागी होणे गरजेचे आहे. प्रत्येकामध्ये एकमेकांविषयी सदाचाराचा संस्कार निर्माण होणे गरजेचा आहे. स्वतःच्या समाजासाठी काहीतरी करण्याची वृत्ती, उत्साह, चैतन्य, परिश्रम, आशावाद आणि जग बदलून टाकण्याची इच्छा प्रत्येक तरूणाची असायला हवी.
देशातील तरूण पिढीने जाणले आहे. 'बलोपासना करणे' हा आपला पूर्वीपार चालत आलेला आदर्श आहे. त्यामुळे प्रत्येक तरूणाने स्वतःच्या शरीराकडे, आरोग्याकडे लक्ष दिले पाहिजे. देशाविषयी निस्सीम देशनिष्ठा, तत्पर कार्यनिष्ठा आज या युवकांमध्ये निर्माण होऊ लागली आहे. या सर्वकारणामुळे आपल्या देशावरील परकीयांची आक्रमणे परतवून लावण्यासाठी देशात शूर सैनिकांची, सेनाधिकाऱ्यांची वाण नाही. या सर्व तरूणांसमोर शिवरायांच्या मावळ्यांचा प्रेरणादायी आदर्श आहे. देशातील लोकसंख्येचा विस्फोट, भस्मासूर देशातील तरूणांनी ओळखला आहे म्हणून मर्यादित कुटुंब हा त्यांचा आदर्श आहे.
निरक्षरतेच्या राक्षसाला खोलवर गाडून साक्षर, समर्थ आणि जबाबदार आदर्श नागरिक निर्माण करण्याचे प्रयत्न आम्ही तरूणवर्ग करत आहे. त्यामुळे प्रत्येक तरूणामध्ये स्वावलंबन हा मंत्र रूजू लागला आहे. त्याचे कारण म्हणजे जितके आपण तरूण स्वावलंबी होऊ तितकाच आपला देश अधिक बलवान होणार आहे. आज जगातील अनेक क्षेत्रे तरूण वर्गाने पादाक्रांत केला आहे. वर्तमान स्थितीमध्ये भारतामधील लाखो भारतीय युवक परदेशात शिक्षण, नोकरी वा अन्य व्यवसायांत गुंतलेली आहेत. असे असून सुद्धा या सर्वांचे चित्त स्वदेशाकडेच आहे. कारण या सर्वांना समर्थ समाजाबरोबरच समर्थ भारत घडवायचा आहे. आपल्या भारत देशातील लाखो - करोडो तरूण नव भारताचे शिल्पकार ठरणार आहेत!

In the last seventy years, India has made remarkable progress in the field of industry and agriculture. In the first few years of our post-independence India, our country was completely dependent on machinery and technology. But in today's computer age, India has made amazing progress in the field of software. But at the same time, it is the responsibility of every youth to overcome many challenges, to endure hardships, perseverance and determination. To build a civilized society, every young person has to be self-centered. It is important to give up this attitude. Every youth should constantly consider the interest of the society. I have some commitment to this society, to my country. Everyone needs to think about this.
