श्रावणमास किंवा माझा आवडता महिना : श्रावण
चैत्र महिन्यापासून सुरू होणाऱ्या मराठी महिन्यांचे रंगरूप आपणास नेहमीच आगळेवेगळे पाहण्यास मिळतात. कुणाला चैत्राच्या पालवीची मोहिनी पडते, तर कोणाला वैशाख महिन्यातील वणवा आवडतो, कुणाला मेघश्याम आषाढ हवाहवासा वाटतो, तर कोणी सोनेरी अश्विन महिन्यासाठी झुरत बसतात. मला स्वतःला मात्र सर्वात जास्त आवडतो तो, 'हिरवागार, थंडगार, डोळ्यांचे पारणे फेडणार - श्रावण.'
श्रावणा महिन्यामध्ये संपूर्ण पृथ्वीतलावर हिरव्यागार रंगाची उधळण झालेली आढळते. हिरव्या रंगातही किती विविध छटा असतात! कुठे गर्द हिरवा, तर कुठे प्रसन्न हिरवा, तर कुठे पोपटी या सर्व रंगछटांतून चैतन्याचा, सर्जनतेचा आणि सौंदर्याचा साक्षात्कार आपणास घडत असतो
श्रावण हा मराठी महिन्यातील पाचवा महिना आहे. उकाड्याने हैराण करणारे चैत्र-वैशाख गेल्यावर ज्येष्ठ आषाढात पावसाच्या धुवांधार वर्षाव सुरु होतो. वातावरण कुंद आणि ढगाळलेले असते. घराबाहेर पडणे देखील पुष्कळदा अवघड होते. अशा वेळी माणसाला दिलासा लाभतो तो श्रावणात! श्रावणातील पावसाचे वर्णन करताना बालकवी म्हणतात -
श्रावणमासी हर्ष मानसी, हिरवळ दाटे चोहीकडे
क्षणात येते सरसर शिरवे, क्षणात फिरुनी ऊन पडे|
श्रावणातील ऊन-पावसाचा पाठशिवणीचा खेळ पाहून मन हरखून जाते. अवचित कधीतरी सप्तरंगी इंद्रधनुष्याचे मंगल तोरण नभोमंडपाला आगळीवेगळी शोभा आणते. या सुंदर श्रावणमासाचे वर्णन करताना कविश्रेष्ठ कुसुमाग्रज म्हणतात -
हसरा नाचरा जरासा लाजरा,
सुंदर साजरा श्रावण आला!
श्रावणाचे हे चैतन्य मुला माणसात, पशु पक्षांत, पानाफुलांत सर्वत्र ओसंडून जाताना आढळते. श्रावणात फुलणारा तेरडा रंगीबेरंगी गुच्छांचा नजराना घेऊन आलेला असतो. शेतात डोलणाऱ्या तूऱ्यांवर श्रावणाचे सोनेरी ऊन पडते आणि त्याचा तजेला नव्या उत्साहाने डोलत राहतो. श्रावण सरींनी भिजलेली पिके भावी सुबत्तेची आशा पालवू लागतात. शिवारात राबणाऱ्या शेतकऱ्यांना जरासा विसावा मिळतो. अशा या प्रसन्न श्रावण महिन्यात सगळीकडे भरभरून उत्साह ओसांडून वाहत असतो.
श्रावणमास म्हणजे व्रतवैकल्यांचा काळ, सणावारांचा काळ, श्रावणातील सोमवारांचे केवढे माहात्य! मंगळवारी मंगळागौरीची पूजा, शुक्रवारी जिवती मातेचे व्रत, तर शनिवारी मारुतीच्या मंदिराला भेट. या श्रावणात माणूस आपल्यावर उपकार करणाऱ्या निसर्ग बांधवांनाही विसरत नाही. पिकांचे उंदरांपासून रक्षण करणाऱ्या नागांची नागपंचमीला पूजा केली जाते, तर नारळी पौर्णिमेला सागराला भक्तीभावाने नारळ अर्पण केला जातो.
असा हा प्रसन्न, शीतल श्रावणमास! सर्वांच्या हृदयामध्ये हर्षाची, आनंदाची हिरवळ फुलवणारा आणि आगामी समृद्ध जीवनाचे ओझरते दर्शन घडवणारा. मला वाटते, माझ्या प्रमाणे आपणा सर्वांनाही तो खूप खूप आवडत असावा!
Shravanmas or my favorite month: Shravan
You always get to see the colors of Marathi months starting from Chaitra month. Some people are fascinated by the leaves of Chaitra, some people like Vanava in the month of Vaishakh, some people like Meghshyam Ashadh Havahavasa, some people like Zurat for the golden Ashwin month But what I like most about myself is, 'Green, cool, eye-popping - Shravan.'
During the month of Shravan, the entire earth is covered with greenery. What a variety of shades of green! Where there is dark green, where there is happy green, where there is parrot, all these hues of consciousness, creativity and beauty are happening to you.
Shravan is the fifth month of the Marathi month. After Chaitra-Vaishakh, which is harassing Ukada, the rainy season begins in the senior Ashadha. The atmosphere is dull and cloudy. Getting out of the house was also often difficult. At such a time, a person gets relief in Shravan! Describing the rain in Shravan, Balakavi says -
Shravanmasi Harsh Mansi, to Hirval Date Chohi
In a moment, the head is smooth, in a moment, the wool falls
The mind goes everywhere watching the back-sewing game of wool-rain in Shravan. Unexpectedly, the rainbow's Mars pylon adorns the sky. Describing this beautiful Shravanmasa, the great poet Kusumagraj says -
Hasra Nachra Jarasa Lazra,
Beautiful celebration Shravan has arrived!
This consciousness of Shravan is found everywhere in human beings, animals, birds and leaves. The terada that blooms in Shravan is a gift of colorful bunches. Shravan's golden wool falls on the swaying trumpets in the field and its freshness keeps swaying with new vigor. Crops soaked with Shravan sarees start hoping for a better future. Farmers living in Shivara get some rest. In such a happy Shravan month, excitement is flowing everywhere.
Shravanmas is the time of Vratvaikalya, the time of festivals, what is the significance of Mondays in Shravan! Pooja of Mangala Gauri on Tuesday, fast of Jivti Mata on Friday, and visit to Maruti temple on Saturday. In this Shravan, man does not forget the brothers of nature who do us favors. Snakes that protect crops from rats are worshiped on Nagpanchami, while on the coconut full moon, coconuts are offered to the sea with devotion.
Such a happy, cool Shravanmas! A green flower of joy and happiness in everyone's heart and a glimpse of the prosperous life to come. I think, like me, all of you must like it very much!
