"मी आहे सागर. 'किनारा तुला पामराला!' असे अधिक्षेपाने कवी कुसुमाग्रज यांनी मला सुनावले. 'सागरा प्राण तळमळला' असे विनवत कवी सावरकरांनी मातृभूमीला नेण्यासाठी माझी आळवणी केली. तरीसुध्दा हे भारतमातेच्या पुत्रांनो, मी कुणी परका का आहे? मी तर धरित्रीचा सहोदर. धरित्री आणि मी बरोबरच अवतरलो. मग मी तुमचा मामा नाही का? मी सदैव तुमचाच विचार करतो. तुमच्या हिताची काळजी वाहतो. तुमच्या यशाने उचंबळून येतो."
