"माझ्या देशबांधवांनो! आज तुम्ही केवळ एक उपचार म्हणून 'हुतात्मादिन' साजरा करता आहात. काही राजकारणी लोक आपल्या स्वार्थाच्या पोळ्या आजच्या दिवशी भाजून घेत आहेत. प्रत्येकाला आम्ही केलेल्या बलिदानाचे, आम्ही केलेल्या क्रांतीचे काहीही पडलेले नाही. देशाच्या स्वातंत्र्यासाठी प्राणांची आहुती देणाऱ्या क्रांतिकारकांच्या निवासस्थानांना हे लोक दिखावा म्हणून आजच्या दिवशी भेटी देतात. काही जणांनी तेही केले नाही. माझ्या देशवासीयांनो, तुम्ही एवढे कठोर कसे बरे झालात? अरे, या वतनाच्या स्वातंत्र्यासाठी ज्यांनी ज्यांनी आत्मबलिदान केले, आपल्या सर्व आयुष्याची आहुती दिली त्यांची केवळ आठवणही तुम्हांला राहू नये?
देशाच्या स्वातंत्र्यासाठी क्रांती करणाऱ्या व्यक्तींना क्रांतिकारक म्हटले जाते. भारतीय स्वातंत्र्य युध्दामध्ये अनेक क्रांतिकारकांनी भाग घेतला. आपले प्राण गमावले. आपली बायका - मुले वाऱ्यावर सोडून त्यांनी या स्वातंत्र्य युद्धात उडी घेतली. अनेक वेळा यामध्ये यश प्राप्त झाले ही नसेल. पण इंग्रजी राजवटीला जंग जंग पछाडून सरते शेवटी आम्ही या युद्धामध्ये यश प्राप्त केले आहे. हे सर्व आम्ही भारतमातेला गुलामगिरीच्या जोखडातून मुक्त करण्यासाठीच केले. उद्याचे सोनेरी भविष्य पाहण्यासाठी अनेकांनी आपल्या वर्तमानावर पाणी फेरले आहे. परंतू देशाला स्वातंत्र्य मिळाल्या नंतरचे चित्र पाहून मनाला खेद होत आहे. प्रत्येकजण याठिकाणी स्वतःचा स्वार्थ साधत आहे.
"आमच्या वेळी स्वार्थ अस्तित्वातही नव्हता. सारेजण भारावले होते ते स्वराज्य मिळवण्याच्या एकाच ध्येयाने!" 'एकच तारासमोर अन पातळी अंगार' अशी सर्वांची बेभान अवस्था झाली होती. हे 'सतीचे वाण' आम्ही स्वतःहूनच खुशीने स्वीकारले होते. या युध्दात आमच्यापुढे वाढून ठेवलेल्या सर्व दु:खांची, संकटांची आम्हांला पूर्णपणे माहिती होती. तरीपण आम्ही न घाबरता या पथावरून आनंदानेने आणि दृढ ध्येयाच्या दिशेने वाटचाल केली. त्यामुळे तुम्ही सुद्धा मिळेलल्या स्वातंत्र्याचा योग्य वापर केला पाहिजे. स्वतः मध्ये थोडीतरी देशभक्ती जागृत ठेवली पाहिजे. देशाच्या विकासासाठी थोडीफार तरी प्रत्येकाने धडपड केली पाहिजे. देश हिताच्या विचाराने प्रवृत्त झाले पाहिजे. देशाला हानिकारक असणाऱ्या गोष्टींचा वेळीच सर्वांनी विरोध केला पाहिजे. स्वतःच्या मनामध्ये देशभक्तीचा वसा जपला पाहिजे.
"देशभक्तीचे हे व्रत लोकमान्यांनी आम्हांला दिले होते. याचीच आराधना कशी करावी, हे पूज्य गांधीजींनी शिकवले होते. सत्य-अहिंसेच्या अमोघ साधनांची आम्ही परकीय सत्तेशी झुंजलो. दृष्ठ इंग्रज सरकारने आमच्यावर गोळ्या झाडल्या, तरी आम्ही आमच्या कर्तव्यापासून जराही विचलित झालो नाही. गांधीजींनी दिलेल्या 'चले जाव' च्या घोषणेने परकीय सत्ता पार हादरली. सारा देश पेटून उठला. सर्वजण स्वातंत्र्यलढ्यात हिरीरीने उतरले. इंग्रज सरकार तर अगदी पिसाळले होते, पण प्राणांची बाजी लावणाऱ्या देशभक्तांपुढे सरकारचे काहीच चालले नाही. ज्या दिवशी 'स्वातंत्र्य' मिळाले त्या दिवशी सर्वांना आपले जीवन सार्थ झाल्याचा स्वानंद झाला. लवकरच स्वराज्याचे सुराज्य होणार, असे स्वप्न सर्वजण उरी बाळगून होते. प्रत्येकाचा मनामध्ये असणारे स्वतंत्र भारताचे स्वप्न साकार झाले होते. पण...
"आता स्वातंत्र्य मिळून ७० हून अधिक वर्षानंतरही ते स्वप्न अधुरेच राहिले आहे. कारण आज एकविसाव्या शतकामध्ये सुद्धा एक भस्मासुर मोठ्या प्रमाणावर वाढला आहे. या भस्मासुरालाच भ्रष्टाचार म्हणता येईल. अनेकांचे विविध आर्थिक घोटाळे जाहिर होताना दिसत आहेत. अनेक माणस बँक घोटाळे करत आहेत. स्वातंत्र्यच्या अगोदरच्या भस्मासुरापेक्षा या आधुनिक काळातील भ्रष्टाचार फार महाभयंकर आहे. आज सर्वत्र महागाई वाढत आहे. हे सर्व याचेच कटकारस्थान आहे. अनेक ठिकाणी लाच घेऊन विविध कामे केली जात आहेत. सर्वत्र चंगळवादाचे साम्राज्य पसरलेले आहे. काहीजन अन्नामध्ये, औषधांमध्ये भेसळ करून गरिबांच्या जिवाशी खेळत आहेत. सत्ता हव्यासापायी आणि स्वतःच्या स्वार्थासाठी आज देशनिष्ठा, प्रामाणिकपणा हे गुण मातीमोल ठरले आहेत. सर्वत्र भ्रष्टाचाराचा भस्मासुर मातला आहे. हे पाहून आम्हा सर्व क्रांतिकारकांचे मन विदीर्ण झाले आहे. माझ्या देशबांधवांनो, माझी कळकळीची प्रार्थना ऐका. मायभूमीच्या सेवेची शपथ घ्या. या तुमच्या सेवासाधनेतून आमच्या स्वप्नातील 'सुराज्य' या भारतभूमीवर जेव्हा अवतरेल, तेव्हाच आम्हां हुतात्म्यांना खरी शांती लाभेल."

"My compatriots! Today you are celebrating Martyrs' Day as a cure. Some politicians are burning their beehives today. None of the sacrifices we have made, the revolution we have made have fallen on anyone. These are the homes of revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom. How can you, my fellow countrymen, be healed so severely? You should not remember only those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of this country.
People who revolutionize for the freedom of the country are called revolutionaries. Many revolutionaries took part in the Indian War of Independence. Lost his life. Leaving his wife and children in the air, he jumped into the war of independence. Many times it may not have been successful. But in the end we have succeeded in this war. We did all this to free Mother India from the yoke of slavery. Many have turned their backs on the present to see the golden future of tomorrow. But it is sad to see the picture after the country got independence. Everyone is pursuing their own interests here.
"Selfishness did not even exist in our time. Everyone was overwhelmed by the single goal of gaining self-government!" Everyone was in a state of unconsciousness in front of a single star. We had gladly accepted this 'variety of sati'. We were fully aware of all the sorrows and crises that lay ahead of us in this war. Nevertheless, we walked on this path without fear and with joy and determination. So you too should make good use of the freedom you have. A little patriotism should be awakened in oneself. Everyone should strive for the development of the country at least a little bit. The country should be motivated by the idea of welfare. At the same time, everyone should oppose things that are harmful to the country. The fat of patriotism should be kept in one's mind.
"This vow of patriotism was given to us by the people. It was taught by Gandhiji how to worship it. We fought the foreign powers with the infallible means of truth and non-violence. Even though the British government shot at us, we did not deviate from our duty. The proclamation of Java shook the foreign powers, the whole country erupted, everyone rushed to the freedom struggle, the British government was in disarray, but the government did nothing against the patriots who risked their lives. On the day of independence, everyone rejoiced that their lives were meaningful. Everybody was dreaming of Swarajya soon. Everyone's dream of an independent India came true. But ...
"Now, more than 70 years after independence, that dream remains unfulfilled. Because even today, in the 21st century, there is a huge incineration. This incinerator can be called corruption. Many financial scams are being uncovered. Many people are committing bank scams. Corruption in modern times is worse than incineration, inflation is rising everywhere today, it is all a conspiracy, bribery is rampant in many places, the realm of chauvinism is everywhere, some are playing with the souls of the poor by tampering with food and medicine. And for the sake of our own self-interest, patriotism and honesty have become a thing of the past. Corruption is rampant everywhere. We, the revolutionaries, are heartbroken to hear this.
